     Oatmeal Fudge Bars

Combine 1 cup shortening (½ marg. & ½ Crisco)
Add 2 cups brown sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. Vanilla
1 tsp. Salt
1 tsp. Baking soda
2 cups flour
3 ½ cups instant oatmeal
Press 2/3 in bottom of cookies sheet pan
(Reserve 1/3 for later)
Sprinkle with 1 cup chopped walnuts

Melt 2 cups REAL choc. chips
3 TBSP marg.
Add 1 can Sweetened Condensed Milk
Pour over crust
Drop remainder on top
Bake @ 350º for 20-25 minutes
Done when lightly golden brown

      Apple Bars

Pie crust: 2½ cups flour, 1 tsp salt, 1 Tbsp sugar, 1 cup shortening
Mix 1 egg yolk (Save the white) with milk to make ½ cup
Add flour to flour mix, Roll, Put ½ in large cookie sheet pan
Sprinkle crust with ¾ cup crushed corn flakes

Peel & slice 7 apples and mix with 1½ cup sugar and cinnamon.
Put rest of pie dough on top, Brush with beaten egg white
Bake at 325º for 45 minutes

 

 
        Bars
 

          

 

     Toffee Bars

Cream 1 stick marg. & ½ cup Crisco
with 1 cup packed brown sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. Vanilla
2 cups flour
Spread on greased cookie sheet pan
Bake @ 350º for 15 minutes

Melt 1 pkg. REAL chocolate chips
Spread on top of bars when baked
Sprinkle with chopped walnuts

        
 
       Sweet & Salty Bars

1 Bag Frito Corn Chips in cake pan
1 cup white sugar
1 cup white corn syrup
1 cup peanut butter
Bring to a boil-pour over chips
Drizzle choc over the top   Enjoy!
 

 
           Chocolate Carmel Bars

Mix 2/3 c. melted marg. with
½ cup. evaporated milk and
1 pkg. German Chocolate Cake mix
Press ½ of cake mix in bottom of
Greased 9x12 cake pan
Bake at 350° 6-8 min.
Sprinkle with 1 cup real choc. chips
Melt one package of caramels
with ¼ cup evap. milk over low heat
Pour over baked cake mix
Spread rest of cake mix on top
Bake @ 350° for 20 min.

 

 
                         German Chocolate Log

In large bowl combine 1 package colored
marshmallows and 1 cup walnuts.
Melt the following in microwave 1 minute,
Plus additional 30 to 45 seconds:
One Bar German chocolate
1 cup REAL chocolate chips
2 Tbsp. margarine
Beat in 2 eggs and 1¼ cup powdered sugar
Stir into marshmallow mixture
Sprinkle coconut flakes on wax paper
Take 1/3 of choc. mixture and form into a log with hands
On wax paper, when formed, roll in wax paper.
Repeat for the rest of choc. mixture

Put the 3 logs in plastic bags and put in freezer.
Keep frozen till ready to slice & serve.

 

 
                   Rosettes

Mix in blender:
2 eggs
1 cup milk
1 tsp. Vanilla
1 TBSP. Sugar
½ tsp. Salt
1 cup flour
Preheat oil & rosette iron to 365º
Dip in batter and fry 45 seconds
Drain on paper towel
Store in loosely covered container
Shake in powdered sugar

     Blonde Brownies

 1 Yellow cake mix
 2 eggs, ¼ cup water, ¼ cup brown sugar, ¼ cup marg.
 1- 12 oz. pkg. Real chocolate chips
 Spread into cake pan. Bake at 350º 20-25 minutes

 

 
        Cherry, Peach or Apple Bars - Danish Like

1½ cups sugar, 1 cup oil, 3 eggs, 3 cups flour,
1½ Baking powder, Vanilla
Mix and put ⅔ in bottom of cookie sheet pan
Spread pie mix of your choice on top
Put remainder of dough on top
Bake at 350º 25 minutes
Streusel on top
 1 cup powdered sugar, 1 Tbsp marg. & 1 Tbsp water on top

    Kringla

1 cup sugar, 1 stick butter, 1 egg, 1 cup buttermilk, 1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp salt, 1 tsp. soda, 1 tsp baking powder, 3 cups flour
Mix well and Chill overnight
Roll into ropes and make a figure 8
Bake at 450º on bottom rack 8 minutes;
Move to top rack & bake 2-3 min
Makes 36-40 Kingla

 

 
      Chocolate Crinkles

½ cup Veg. oil, 4 squares unsweetened chocolate, 2 cups sugar
4 eggs one at a time, 2 tsp. vanilla, ½ tsp salt, 2 cups flour,
2 tsp baking powder    Chill thoroughly
Drop by tsp into 1 cup powdered sugar and roll into balls.
Place 2 inches apart
Bake 10 - 12 minutes at 350º  Do not overbake

 

 
    

 

     Delores's Brownies

1 cup sugar, ½ cup marg. 4 eggs one at a time
1 can Hershey's syrup, 1 cup + 1 tbsp Flour, 1 tsp vanilla & nuts
Bake at 350º for 20 minutes in a jelly roll pan

 

 
          Chocolate chip Frosting

1 cup sugar
¼ cup milk
¼ cup marg.
In heavy saucepan cook as soon
as it bubbles on edges for 2 min.
Add 1 cup REAL choc. Chips
Stir until dissolved
Frost cake

  Shannon's Banana Bread

  Potato Refrigerator Rolls

    Shannon's Banana-Nut Bread

1 cup sugar
½ cup shortening
2 eggs beaten
3 ripe bananas mashed
¼ tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
½ tsp. baking powder
1¾ cup flour
½ cup walnuts
1 tsp. vanilla
Bake in loaf pan at 325° for 1 hour.
Makes 1 loaf

  

 
      Bubble Bread/Caramel Rolls

18-20 Frozen rolls (walnut size)
Melt 1 stick butter in small bowl
Mix the following together in larger bowl:
3/4 cup brown sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
2/3 pkg. butterscotch pudding-cook & serve (not instant)

Spray Bundt pan and sprinkle chopped walnuts in bottom
Roll frozen rolls in butter and then dry mixture and place in
Bundt pan. Pour remainder of butter & dry mix over the top

Cover with wax paper and leave out overnight on counter
Bake in the morning at 350º for 25 to 30 minutes
Turn upside down on wax paper covered cookie sheet

 

 
       Potato Refrigerator Rolls

Boil ½ cup water
Add ¼ cup milk
¾ cups potato flakes
Stir in ⅔ cup margarine
2 eggs
Dissolve 1 pkg. yeast with
1½ cups warm water
Add ⅔ cup sugar
1 ½ tsp. salt
Stir in 7-7 ½ cups flour
Place in bowl, cover tightly
Refrigerate for 1 – 4 days
Shape into rolls and let rise
2 - 3 hours
Makes 4 dozen buns
Bake @ 400º 12-15 minutes

   Carnation Five Minute Fudge
   Peanut Brittle

      Soft Carmel Candy

In large saucepan; Melt 2 sticks butter and stir in 2¼ cups brown sugar, dash of salt, Blend in 1 cup light corn syrup, gradually
add 1 can Bordens. Cook & stir to firm ball stage 244-248º
(12-15 minutes) Remove from heat, add 1 tsp vanilla
Pour in cake pan, cool, cut (warm knife) & wrap in wax paper

     Carnation Five Minute Fudge

Combine in saucepan and cook over medium
Bring to a boil and cook 4-5 minutes stirring constantly
⅔ cup (small can evap. milk 1⅔ cup sugar ½ salt, 1½ cup
Remove from heat and stir in marshmallows (16 large)
1½ real choc. chips, 1 tsp vanilla stirring vigorously for 1 minute Add nuts if you like. Pour into an 8 inch buttered pan

 

 
       Peanut Brittle

Mix 1½ white sugar, ⅔ cup cold water, ½ cup white corn syrup. Cook over medium heat 10 min (14 from start) to hard crack in spoon in cold water.
Add 1½ cups raw spanish peanuts, 2 Tbsp. butter. Stir. cook 5-6 minutes till slightly browned.
*Have 1 tsp soda dissolved in about 1 tsp milk read to stir into mixture.
Have pan above buttered cookie sheet when you pour soda in ready to pour and tip as it sets quite quickly!

 

 
       Desserts

        

     Butterscotch Freezer Dessert

¾ cup crushed graham crackers
¾ cup crushed soda crackers
¼ cup melted margarine
Press into cake pan
1 pkg. Instant Butterscotch Pudding
1 pkg. Instant Vanilla Pudding
½ cup milk
Mix with mixer
Blend in 1 quart butter-brickle ice cream
Spread over crumb crust
1 Butterfinger candy bar crumbled
Sprinkle over top
FREEZE

Crush 8 graham crackers
Mix with 3 Tbsp. Butter
Reserve 1/3 cup for top
Spread rest in 9 x 13 pan

Melt 50 large marshmallows
with 1/3 cup milk over very low heat
Add 2 cups pumpkin
1 tsp. cinnamon
½ tsp. nutmeg
¼ tsp cloves
¼ tsp. allspice
Cool:
Fold in One 9 oz. tub of cool whip
Pour over crust, sprinkle with rest of crumbs
CHILL
 

 
     Pumpkin Roll

Mix ¾ cup flour, 1 cup sugar, 1 tsp soda, 3 eggs,
cup pumpkin ½ tsp cinnamon, sprinkle with nuts
Put on a cookie sheet lined w/wax paper
Bake at 375º 15 minutes Take a kitchen towel sprinkled with
powdered sugar and lay over the top while hot, roll the long way-towel, wax paper and all. Let it cool
Mix 8 oz. cream cheese, 1 tsp vanilla, 2 Tbsp butter & 1 cup p.s.
Unroll and spread the filling and roll it back up. Wrap & chill
 

 
     

     Chocolate Lush Dessert

Break 1 angel food cake into pieces
Put half in bottom of cake pan
Break & divide 4 eggs
Whites in large mixing bowl
Beat until very stiff, add 2 TBSP sugar
Beat yolks in small bowl
Melt 2 cups of REAL choc. chips
Blend in beaten yolks
Fold into egg white mixture
Fold in 1 8 oz. cool whip
Pour ½ over angel food cake
Add remainder of cake and
Pour rest of choc. mixture over
Refrigerate several hours

 

 
                        Fresh Strawberry Jello

Boil 1
cups water
Add 1 large (2 small pkgs) Strawberry Jello
20 ice cubes Stir to dissolve
Wash & cut up a pint of fresh strawberries
Save 6-8 halves to garnish the top
As soon as the jello is thickened,
Fold in one 8 oz Cool Whip
Fold in fresh strawberries

 

 
        Applesauce Jello

2 pkgs. Red Jello
2 cups hot water
1 Jar Applesauce

 

 
           Strawberry Angel Food Dessert

Mix 2 packages strawberry Jell-O with 2 cups of boiling water. Add frozen package of strawberries and let chill until slightly thickened. Fold in 1 8 oz. carton of cool whip. Take a bar of angel food and break 1/2 into the bottom of a cake pan pouring over half of Jell-o. Repeat the steps and lift gently with a fork to cover cake.

Chill and Serve

 

 
      Cherry Pie Mix Jello

2 pkgs. Cherry Jello
3 cups boiling water
1 can cherry pie mix
1 can Coke

 

 
            Fruit Pizza

Roll one refrigerator sugar cookie onto large round baking stone or pizza pan within an inch of the edge.
Bake @ 350º 12-15 minutes  Let Cool

Stir together one 8 oz. package cream cheese with 1/3 cup sugar and spread on cookie.

Cut and put on top: Strawberries halved, kiwi sliced, grapes halved, pineapple tidbits and mandarin oranges.
Reserve juice from fruits.

Cook till thickened: 1/2 cup sugar, 2 TBSP. cornstarch and 1 cup fruit juice. Cool slightly and spoon over fruit.

 

 
       Mint bon bon Dessert

Crush 10 package vanilla wafers (app. 70) with 4 Tbsp butter
Save ¾ cup for top and press remainder in a cookie sheet pan
Blend ½ cup melted butter, 2 sq. unsweetened choc., 4 egg yolks
2 ½ cups powdered sugar; Fold into 4 beaten egg whites Freeze
Put mint bon bon ice cream on top and sprinkle with crushed wafers  Freeze

   Krystal-Dee's Fat-free Dessert

Mix 1 cup skim milk with 1 pkg French vanilla pudding mix
1 8 oz fat free cream cheese, 1 carton fat free cool whip Let set
Put in bag to squeeze into cooled baked shells

8 tortilla shells, spray with fat free cooking spray
Dip in 1 cup sugar mixed with 2 tsp. cinnamon
Cut in Fourths & put in sprayed muffin tins

Melt 6 little squares German choc. in plastic bag,
Snip corner & streusel over top

     Grandma Cleveland's Rhubarb-Cherry Jam

Cook 4 cups rhubarb cut fine with
1¼ cup sugar, a little water to start
Add 1 small pkg cherry Jello, 1 can cherry pie mix,
Dash of cinnamon Mix well
Put in jars and seal
Refrigerate after opening

 

 
           Drinks

     

  

         Rhubarb Slush

Ingredients:

8 C. rhubarb
8 C. water
3 C. sugar
1/2 C. lemon juice

Cook all this together and strain. Then add 1 small package strawberry Jello and 2 cups vodka or Strawberry Schnapps. Makes about one 5 quart ice cream pail. "Freeze." Scoop into glasses and add 7-Up or Sprite.

          Gold Punch

3 small pkgs. lemon Jello added to 9 cups boiling water
Combine 4 cups sugar with 4 cups boiling water    Mix with Jello mix
Add 2 cans pineapple juice
         1 large bottle Real Lemon
         ½ can apricot nectar
Freeze in pails   Remove from freezer 1 hour before serving
Add large 2-liter bottle 7up or ginger ale  Stir to slush

 

 
         Sherbet Punch

1 2-liter bottle lemon-lime soda
1 can pineapple juice
1 can pink grapefruit juice or  (red punch for pink)
Spoon 1 half gallon lemon-orange sherbet
(Or use raspberry sherbet for pink)

 

 
           Kahlua

First: Dissolve 4 cups of sugar in 1½ Boiling water
Second: Dissolve 2 oz. of Instant coffee to ½ cup of boiling water
Pour into sugar water
Add 2 cups of Brandy and 1 Tbsp of vanilla
Put in a brown bottle and shake everyday for 2-3 weeks

5 ounces of each:  Serve blended on ice

Amaretto; Coffee Liquer; Creme de Cocoa; Irish Cream; Rum Lt & Dk

Substitute Cream of coconut for Irish cream

 

 


   
Main Dishes

  
 

       Turkey Casserole

Prepare 2 (6 ox) boxes stove-top stuffing as box
indicates and put in bottom of greased cake pan.
Mix 6 cups cooked and diced turkey
3 cans cream soup (mushroom, chicken or celery)
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
Put on top of stuffing mixture
Crush 1 sleeve Ritz crackers
Mix with 1 stick melted margarine
Sprinkle on top
Bake covered @ 350° 45 min.
Uncover & bake 15 minutes longer

               
       
       Overnight Scalloped Chicken Casserole

Cube 4 slices of bread and put in greased cake pan
Mix 2+ cups ham, chicken or turkey,
½ cup salad dressing,
Chopped onion, green pepper & celery over bread cubes
Cube 4 more slices of bread and put on top
Pour 3 cups milk, 4 beaten eggs, salt & pepper on top
Cover in Fridge overnight  Bake 1 hour at 350º
Spoon cream of mushroom and grated cheese on top & Melt

 

 
                                             Taco Hot Dish

Place 2 packages crescent rolls in bottom of cake
Sprinkle with crushed taco chips
Brown 2 pounds hamburger with taco season mix
Put on top of crescent rolls
Add one small can sliced black olives
One carton sour cream
Sprinkle with 1 – 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
And crushed taco chips
Bake uncovered @ 350º for 20-30 minutes   
      
 
 
             Salsa Chicken

3 to 5 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
16 oz. salsa (put some in bottom of crock pot first)
1 can whole kernel corn partially drained
1 can black beans
½ packet taco seasoning
Cook on low in crock pot for 6-8 hours
Add a few scoops of sour cream before serving over rice

 

 
         One Dish Chicken & Rice Bake

1 can cream of mushroom soup, 1 cup water, 1 cup uncooked rice
¼ tsp. paprika, ¼ tsp pepper
4 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves sprinkles with p & p
Bake at 375º for 45 minutes till chicken & rice are done

 

 
                 Chicken Enchilada Ring

Crush 1/2 cup tortilla chips. Use 2 packages of crescent rolls and pat one side in crushed chips. Place on a large round baking stone or pizza pan with app. 2/3 of the tails hanging over the edge.

In large mixing bowl: Stir one 10 oz. can chicken, 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese, 1/3 cup Miracle whip, 2 tsp. of enchilada sauce mix. Spoon unto crescent rolls.
Wrap 'tails' up over the mixture and tuck under.
Bake @ 350° for 15 - 20 minutes until golden brown.

 

 
          Shepherd's Pie

Boil 6-8 potatoes and mash
Brown 1½ - 2 pounds hamburger
Pour 1 can Beef Chunky Soup over it.
Add 1 cup of cooked gravy
Spread Mashed potatoes over the top
Bake at 325º 25 minutes
 
 
                          Pepperoni Pizza Twist

Take one tube of refrigerator French Loaf and cut in half. Then split each half length-wise. Using finger make a trough in the middle. Sprinkle finely diced pepperoni and shredded cheddar cheese. Pinch edges shut tightly. Take two and gently braid together. Makes 2 twists.

Bake @ 350° for 15 - 20 minutes until golden brown.

 

 
                        Party Chicken

Sprinkle 1 small jar diced dried beef
In bottom of glass cake pan
Wrap 8 boned, skinned chicken breasts
with a slice of bacon & place in pan.
Mix 1 pint sour cream,
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1/3 cup cooking sherry
Put on top of chicken breasts
Bake uncovered @ 250° 2½ - 3 hours

 

 
                       Ramen Noodle Hot Dish

Brown 2 pounds hamburger in large fry pan,
add the seasoning from a package of
Oriental Ramen Noodles
½ tsp. ginger
Add 2 cups hot water,
2 packages Oriental Ramen Noodles
with the second package of seasoning,
1 large bag of California blend vegetables
Cook until tender, app. 15 – 20 minutes

 

 
                                   Biscuit-Hamburger Hot Dish

Brown 2 pounds hamb. seasoned
Mix with 1 cup sour cream
1 can cream soup
Put in bottom of cake pan
Spread 2 tubes large BP biscuits
 out on counter top
Mix 2 cups shredded cheese
½ cup cottage cheese
Spoon into center of biscuits
Pinch together and place
On top of hamburger mixture
Bake @ 350º 20-30 minutes

 

 
                        Flash in a Pan

8 slices bacon cut in ½" pieces
Brown in large fry pan
Pour off all but 2 TBSP bacon grease
Stir in 3 TBSP flour,
8 oz. Tomato sauce
1-2 diced ripe tomatoes
1 small can black olives
12 oz cut up imitation crab
Heat through
Serve over thick sliced French bread
Toasted under broiler

 

 
       Chicken & Rice Hot Dish

In large dutch-oven pan
Cook 1 cup rice
2 cups water
1 tsp. salt for 20 minutes
Add:
1 can cream soup
1 can Campbells Savory Chicken Rice Soup
2 cans Veg-All vegetables
2 10 oz. cans chunk chicken
Heat thoroughly
Bake @ 350º for 30 min.

          Shrimp

Peel shrimp
Bring to a boil in fry pan:  1 stick Butter
2 cups white cooking wine or beer
Add lemon pepper, garlic salt, onion salt, seasoning salt
Drop shrimp into fry pan cook till pink-app, 5-6 minutes

 

 
        7 Deep Casserole

1 pound Browned Hamburger with ½ cup chopped onion,
2 cups sliced potatoes, 1 cup sliced carrots, ½ cup white rice
salt & pepper  Put in 2 quart dish,
Put 1 can tomatoes/juice on top, Cover,
Bake at 325º for 2 hours  Add water ½ as needed

 

 
            Spanish Rice

Cook 1 ½ cups rice, ½ tsp salt
with 3 cups water 20 minutes
Brown 2 pounds hamburger
Stir in 1 large can tomatoes diced
Stir hamb. mix into rice
Add most of large can tomato juice
Bake @ 350º for 30-45 min.

 

 
      California Blend Hot Dish

1  2 lb. bag California blend frozen veg.
1 cup Minute rice.
Melt in microwave:
8 oz. Cheez Whiz
1 stick butter (or less)
Add 1 can cream of mush. soup

Bake 1 hour at 350º until veggies are done.

 

 
        Eggs  

    Jane's Egg Bake
   Rhonda's Egg Bake
   French Toast Casserole

          

     

     Jane’s Egg Bake

Place 6 slices of white bread
in bottom of 9x12 glass pan
Sprinkle w/ 2 cups cubed ham
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
Place 6 more slices of bread on top
Beat 9 eggs, 3 cups milk, ½ tsp salt
Pepper and pour over bread
Cover w/ foil & refrigerate overnight
Sprinkle with shredded cheese OR
2 cups crushed corn flakes
mixed with ½ c. melted butter
Bake @ 350º for 1 hour
Uncover last 30 minutes

 

 
                      

  Rhonda’s Egg Bake

Sprinkle shredded  hash browns to cover the
bottom of greased 9x12 cake pan.
Next sprinkle 1 pkg. diced ham
In large mixing bowl stir:
10 eggs
1 cup milk
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
1 cup cottage cheese
1 tsp. salt
dash of pepper
Cover and refrigerate overnight
Bake covered for 1 hour @ 350°
uncover and bake 15 minutes.
Sprinkle with 1 cup cheese & bacon pieces

 

 
       French Toast Casserole

Cube 1 loaf French bread (10 cups) in cake pan
Mix 8 eggs, 3 cups milk, 4 tsp. sugar, 1 tsp vanilla, ¾ tsp salt
Cover & refrigerate overnight
Remove from fridge 20 minutes before baking
Sprinkle with 3 Tbsp sugar, 2 tsp cinnamon & dot with 2 Tbsp butter
Cover and Bake at 350º 45-50 minutes till knife comes out clean
Let stand 5 minutes and serve with syrup

 

 
     



     Pickles

   
     Dill Pickles

Wash small cucumbers
Fill jar and add 3-4 heads of dill
1 tsp. mustard seed
Bring to boil:
2 c. water
1c vinegar
1 Tbsp. pickling salt
Pour over pickles
Put jars of pickles in canner and process for 20 min.
Take out and let stand for about an hour.

 

 
        Wrapped Pickles
Dry off baby dills on paper towels
Spread Morrel's dried beef slices with softened cream cheese
Wrap pickles and slice

 
 
         Pies

      

 

      7-up Pie Crust
4 cups flour, 1 tsp salt, 2 cups lard, 1 cup 7-up

      Vegetable Pizza

Place 2 pkgs. crescent rolls
In cookie sheet pan
Bake @ 350º 8-10 minutes
Cool

Mix 1½ Pkgs. Cream cheese
1/3 cup miracle whip
1/2 tsp. onion salt
1/2 tsp. garlic salt
Spread on cooled crust

Add:
1 shredded carrot
broccoli pieces
cauliflower pieces
radish diced
cucumber diced
celery diced
any fresh veg. you like
black olives
Sprinkle with shredded cheese
Keep refrigerated

   

 
                    

     Overnight Lettuce Salad

Tear 1 large head lettuce in 9x12 Tupperware
Layer on top:
1 cup chopped celery
1 small can sliced water chestnuts
Chopped onion & green pepper, opt.
One 10 frozen peas
Spread 2 cups Miracle Whip mixed
With ⅓ cup sugar.
Sprinkle with ½ fried bacon pieces
1 cup shredded cheese

 

 
                     Carrot Tuna Salad

Shred 1 pound Carrots
Shred 2 stalks celery
2 cans Tuna in water drained
Add 1 cup Miracle Whip mixed with
1/3 cup sugar
1/3 cup Russian salad
dressing
Stir & refrigerate
Before serving add several handfuls of potato sticks

 

 
              Taco Salad

Brown 1 lb of hamburger mixed with 1 pkg Taco Mix
Break up a head of lettuce
Add 2 diced tomatoes
Sliced green or black olives
1-2 cups shredded cheese
Crushed Doritos just before serving
Cover with Russian Dressing
 

 
 

     Rings, Peas & Cheese Salad

Cook 2 pkgs. Macaroni rings
With 10 oz. frozen peas
Drain
Add 2 cups shredded cheese
Make a well of 1 cup Miracle whip
Stir in ¼ cup wine vinegar and
⅓ cup sugar
Stir into salad mixture
Refrigerate

 

 
           

    Crab Salad

Cook and drain
One 12 oz. pkg. rainbow Rotini
Add:
1 ½ lbs. Imitation crab cut up
½ cup diced celery
Opt. green peppers
2 diced tomatoes
Make a well of 1 cup Miracle whip
Stir in ¼ cup wine vinegar and
⅓ cup sugar
Stir into rotini-crab mixture
Refrigerate

 

 
                                  

 Spiced Peach Jello

1 large can sliced cling peaches
Drain juice into 2 quart saucepan
Add ½ cup sugar
2 TBSP. wine vinegar
12 whole cloves
⅛ tsp. cinnamon
Bring to a slow boil
Add peaches, simmer 10 min.
Strain juice, add boiling water to make 2 cups
Stir in 2 pkgs. orange jello
Add 1 ½ cold water
Add peaches
Pour into jello mold
Or pour into 9-10 molds
I use the cups from snack tray sets

 

 
                 

     Mandarin Orange Jello

2 pkgs. orange jello
2 cups boiling water
Stir in 5-7 scoops vanilla ice cream
2 cans mandarin oranges drained
Pour in 2 quart bowl

       

 
        Snacks/Appetizers       Chex Mix

Mix in large bowl:
1 large box Krispix Cereal
½ box Corn Chex Cereal
Few round pretzels
1 can Mixed nuts
1 can peanuts
Put on 2 large cookie sheet pans

Melt 2 sticks butter,
Add & mix in: 1 tsp. savor salt, 1 tsp garlic salt, 1 tsp. onion salt
½ tsp. celery salt, ½ cup oil, ¼ Worcestershire
Pour over mix and stir. Bake at 200º 2½ hrs - stirring every ½ hr

 

 
   Chex Mix
   Puppy Chow
   Oyster Cracker Snack Mix
   Pecan Pineapple Dip
   Bacon Wrapped Water Chestnuts
    
      Puppy Chow


1 box Chex Cereal in a large bowl
Melt 1 stick butter, 6 oz. choc. chips, 1 cup peanut butter
Pour over chex mix and gently stir, cool a bit
In large brown paper sack with powdered sugar, dump in mix and shake vigorously. Add p. sugar as needed

 

 
       Oyster Cracker Snack Mix

¾ cup oil, ½ tsp dill weed, ¼ cup garlic powder,
¼ cup lemon pepper, 1 pkg. Ranch Hidden Valley
Pour over 2 - 12 oz oyster crackers. Mix well
Bake at 275º 15-20 minutes

 

 
         Pecan Pineapple Dip

2 - 8 oz pkgs Cream cheese
1 small can crushed pineapple
2 cups chopped pecans
2 Tbsp chopped onion
¼ cup chopped green pepper
1 tsp season salt

 

 
        Bacon Wrapped Water Chestnuts

1 can whole water chestnuts
Pour soy sauce over to cover with ¼ tsp ginger
Let stand 4 hours
Wrap with
½ bacon strip
Microwave a minute at a time till golden brown

 

 
         Soups      Staci's Cheeseburger Soup

Brown 2 lb. hamburger
Slightly cook 4 cups diced potatoes in 2-3 cans chicken broth
(3 cans if double recipe)
Sauté 1 tsp Basil, 3/4 c. chopped onion, 1 tsp Parsley
3/4 c. shredded carrots, 3/4 c. diced celery in 4 Tbsp butter
and add 1/4 c. flour,
Add 1 1/2 c. milk  1/4 c. sour cream,
8 oz. Velveeta, 3/4 tsp salt,1/2 tsp pepper
Cook in crock pot on low

     Knoeffla

2 cups of flour, 1 egg  warm water
you want a stiff dough, roll out into a rope cut pieces
with scissors. Cook for 1.5 hrs.

      Broccoli- Cauliflower Cheese Soup

4 cups water, 4 tsp bouillon,
1 head cauliflower, 1 bunch broccoli, 2 lbs carrots,
2 sticks celery, onion, salt & pepper. Cook till tender
½ cup flour, 1 stick butter, 6 cups milk cook till smooth
Add 2 pounds Velveeta
